The Rio Sever runs all year round and springs from just a few kilometers away. A few kilometers downstream, Rio Sever separates Portugal from Spain. The land is facing the river all along and then rises to provide breathtaking views of the secluded river valley and surrounding mountains on both sides of Portugal & Spain. A morning bath in one of the river's bathing/swimming spots is rejuvenating all year round. This is certainly one of the most amazing spots in the 56.000 ha natural park of Serra de São Mamede.

The beautiful serene area of the Serra de São Mamede natural park is abundant in wildlife such as wild boars, deers, wild cats, otters, voles and more. It has a very varied vegetation and it is possible to observe rare birds of prey such as the vulture, kite or Bonelli eagle — the emblem of the park.

Authentic and pristine nature such as this is becoming a real rarity and will only become more sought after. As part of a state-protected nature reserve, the land and all the surrounding area is hence protected from any neighboring construction and development.
